Position Purpose

  • I. Responsible for managing India Payroll & Benefits platform
  • II. Candidate must have prior experience in managing employee payroll processing OR finance services delivery platform.
  • III. Must possess extensive knowledge of compensation accounting, regulatory and related compliance topics.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

A. Strategic Management of Payroll & Benefits platform, including but not limited to:

o Processing and Administration of Payroll, Employee Benefits and Reimbursements

o Delivery of aforementioned HR Ops services in line with SLA to specific BNPP entities

o Supervise the Payroll & Benefits team by constantly improving quality, productivity and timeliness

o Build strategies for employee benefits and formulate related policies

o Coordinate with HR front office and external service providers

o Accounting & reconciliation, Statutory actions and Audits

o Stakeholder management and governance

B. Service Provider Liaison:

o Interact with Payroll & Benefits service providers/vendors on a regular basis

o Monitor accuracy and quality of vendor input/output by putting in place appropriate controls

o Review service level and share the feedback with the service provider

o Ensure appropriate information flow to and from with service providers

o Provide inputs on improvisation of overall vendor services

C. Employee Interaction:

o Interact with Employees on Payroll & Benefits related matters

o Address employee grievance, resolve queries and problems

o Promote consumption of employee benefits by organizing campaigns, helpdesks, etc.

o Give visibility of features associated with employee compensation related services

D. Risk Management & Control:

o Anticipate risks, Comply with internal guidelines and external regulations

o Be the key interlocutor in responding to auditors

o Highlight variances, defaults, anomalies, etc. to the top management in a timely manner

o Ensure implementation of operational controls for Payroll & Benefits

o Ensure that risk framework for Payroll & Benefits is robust and all controls are duly anticipated and implemented

E. Internal Accounting and Payments:

o To ensure accuracy, correctness and appropriateness of transaction processing

o Peruse statements and regularly check various accounts and ensure completion of transactions

o Liaise with IT for transaction processing

    • Ensure reconciliation of accounts and transactions basis risks foreseen

F. Team Management:

o Maintain a high performing team for payroll & benefits platform at all times

o Groom, guide and develop employees

o Set objectives, Review performance and Provide feedback

o Counsel on career opportunities

G. Regulatory, Compliance and Employee Relations:

o Liaise with legal, audit, tax departments whenever required

o Keep abreast on changes occurring on internal guidelines and external regulatory framework time-to-time

H. Process efficiency and Continuous improvement:

o Inculcate a culture of 'continuous improvement' by adopting best practices, systems and tools

o Plan and execute initiatives to improve process efficiency ongoing basis

Technical knowledge & Skills

Mandatory:

1. Leadership Skills

2. Expert knowledge on Payroll & Benefit topics, related Regulatory Acts, etc. /OR/ Extensive knowledge gained through managing finance services delivery platforms

3. Strong communication and coordination skills

Preferred:

  1. Knowledge of HR Processes
  2. Understanding of offshoring business
