Job Description

Job Purpose :

• Responsible for providing hospitality at sea by assisting guests with any request during their stay on board & ensure vessel interior/exteriors standards. Welcoming the guest on board the vessel, assists guests with all needs, provide refreshment and ensure complies with any request as needed.
  
  
•   Functional/Technical Responsibilities        
•  Meet and greet guests upon their arrival and departure from the yacht
•  Act as the main point of contact for guests on board, providing information about the vessel, its amenities, and the surrounding   area.         
• Anticipate guest needs and take proactive steps to ensure their comfort and satisfaction.         
• Maintain the cleanliness of all interior areas of the vessel, including guest cabins and common areas.         
• Assist in maintaining the exterior of the vessel by cleaning and polishing surfaces.         
• Perform housekeeping duties as required, ensuring the yacht meets the high cleanliness standards expected on a luxury vessel and preparing it for guest and staff boarding and departure.         
• Prepare and serve food and drinks to guests.         
• Serve as a liaison between guests and other crew members, relaying messages as necessary.         
• Monitor the vessel's systems and promptly report any issues to the captain or first mate.         
• Strictly adhere to all safety protocols in accordance with company policy and maritime law.         
• Provide first aid and medical assistance to guests when necessary.         
• Manage inventory levels of food and drinks, including ordering supplies, ensuring that there are sufficient supplies on board at the start of each trip, and restocking as needed during the trip.         
• Assist with deck work, which may involve cleaning and polishing surfaces, hull scrubbing, or organizing storage areas.          Participate in safety drills, lifeboat training, and other emergency procedures.         
• Maintain open communication with guests to keep them informed about trip details.         
• Assist guests with special needs, such as those requiring boarding assistance.

• Job Requirements
• Qualification and Experience        
•  High school, diploma or equivalent. 
•  Minimum +2 years experience in marine hospitality or equivalent.        
• Must hold valid STCW certificate or equivalent.        
• Must hold VHF Radio Operation certificate or equivalent.        
• Must hold valid Powerboat Level 2 certificate or equivalent.        
• Must hold vessel security awareness certificate.Fulfill all the requirements of Boarder Guard marine craft driving license, including:   
• Familiar with the law of preventing collision at sea, seamanship, and marine aids.o   
• Familiar with the operation and maintenance of maritime machines/engines 
• Familiar with how to use the navigational lights.
• Skills         
• Excellent communication skills          
• Excellent customer service skills        
• Complete fluency in written and spoken English.        
• Proficiency in swimming.

• Core Competencies
• Multitasking Yacht deckhand must multitask, as they responsible for several duties at once. For example, they may oversee preparing food, cleaning, and maintaining the yacht, as well as ensuring the comfort of the passengers.
• This requires a high level of multitasking skills, as it allows them to complete their duties efficiently.
• First Aid Yacht deckhand is often the first responder to medical emergencies on board, and they must be able to handle any situation.
• Basic Manoeuvring Knowing how to assist with basic vessel manoeuvres, such as docking, anchoring, and mooring.
• Tides and Currents Awareness Awareness of how tides and currents can affect a vessel's movement and navigation.
