Job Description

Teradata DBA Key Responsibilities (3-8 years):
Assist and support development team members on multiple projects for Database needs
Excellent verbal and written skills in English
Interface with Target Management to get tasks allocated and update the status on regular basis
Ability to work independently and multi-task with attention to detail
Flexibility to work in different shifts with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Roles and Responsibilities:
Teradata DBA skills to manage day-to-day administration and EDW Operations
Understanding of Teradata architecture concepts, including Amps, Nodes, Databases, Skew, Primary Indexes, Secondary and Join Indexes, and Table Statistics.
Understanding of transaction Locking, the causes of Blocked queries and possible corrections to avoid frequent Blocked queries
Users, Space, DB Security, Alerts and workloads management
Exposure to SDLC - Incidents/change management process
Knowledge on DWH concepts, TD SQL, Load Utilities like BTEQ/FASTLOAD/MLOAD and DB objects deployment
System management, Viewpoint monitoring and handle Backup/Archive infrastructure
Assist development/support teams with Teradata implementations and help users on adhoc queries/issues related to Teradata
Troubleshooting and fixing system issues in the Teradata ecosystem and daily ETL batch loads.
Exposure to SQL performance tuning and Unix shell scripting
Experience with Teradata @ Your Service for Support incidents
Experience with CI-CD setup and GIT code management
Good to have knowledge in Retail industry
