Job Description
Responsibilities for Mechanical Design Engineer
- Prepare calculations on the proposed machine before completing technical drawings.
- Sketch and draw up designs using input from engineers and architects on the team.
- Knowledge of quality measuring instruments and tools.
- Calculate factors like limits, fits, tolerance, dimensions, thermal and structural analysis.
- Create designs in line with company procedure, regulations and client standards.
- Utilize Solidworks and Autocad design tools. Develop 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Submit drawings to upper management and construction teams.
- Use customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing machines.
- Provide support during the assembly and installation process, ensuring that the machine is built properly and according to design specifications.
- Finalize designs and send prints to the production department.
- Prepare control plans and quality plans for vendors.
- Develop and review the new technical solutions for our customers.
Required Candidate profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years experience in engineering role or related experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills, impeccable attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD software
- Extensive knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
- Strong computer and mathematical skills
- Experience designing industry-specific products
- Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change
- Able to work in a team environment
- Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative
