DRAUGHTSMAN
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. JOB DETAILS: SCL/SOU1/CIVIL/JD041
Position Title: Draughtsman
Reports to: L1: SBU Heads L2: Head Technical
Function/Division: Civil Department: Technical
2. JOB PURPOSE:
Working as a part of the Business Unit, responsible for the necessary coordination and preparation
of drawings under the particular
SBU scope of works as per the approved construction schedules and the related coordination with all
stakeholders, following the
technical management strategies and standard operating procedures established by the SOU 1 HO
Technical Team.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Draft the drawings as per the project requirements including but not limited to site logistic, POD
logistics, block work phasing
drawings, supporting drawings for subcontractors, any proposal sketches as per the assigned target
dates.
Submit the drawings first time right to ensure the drawings meet the minimum Revision-00
approval rate target.
Continuously improve the quality of work by increasing proficiency in software (Auto CAD, BIM,
Sketch-up, etc.
Assist technical coordinators as required.
Ensure on time completion of the assigned tasks by management team.
Identify gaps in the assigned area and implement improvements.
4. COMMUNICATION && WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Project Team, SBU teams, Head Office Technical
Management Team and representatives of related departments
External: Consultant and Sub contractors.
5. FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES && DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
Complies with the contents of the Authority Matrix of the Business and as detailed in approved
Technical Department handbook.
6. QUALIFICATION && EXPERIENCE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

2 years draughtsman course / 3-year diploma in civil or
architecture.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of working experience in UAE with Main Contractors as
a part of the Site based Engineering team for Building
Construction Projects, Experience in Tall Towers and Residential
projects, Coordination experience with structural and
architectural subcontractors.
7. SKILLS:
Proficiency in related software - AutoCAD, BIM (Revit) MS Office, etc.
Written and Verbal Communication.
8. COMPETENCIES:
