Job Description

Sr. Database Administrator is needed to perform the following duties: Architect, Design, Develop & maintain Database Management Systems and Database Programs using SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2017. Going through the business requirements and design the logical and physical design of the databases. Create, monitor and optimize the performance of the queries in the databases. Work extensively on performance tuning of the applications. Independently formulate detailed database program specifications using structured analysis and design methodology. Prepare project documentation when needed Work with IT and Business users to evaluate user requests, projects, and clarify objectives and data requirements for new or modified computer programs for the Oregon Health Authority-MAGI Medicaid Case Management Solution. Installing, configuring, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2017. Upgrading and migrating servers and databases from SQL Server 2012/2014 to SQL Server. 2016/2017. Build logic using programming and database skills such as T- SQL, Powershell Scripting, Data Services Scripting language, XML, HTML Work on stored procedures/Views in SQL to get the data from the Database. Work on logic of the queries to filter the data by using the appropriate SQL join conditions, aggregate functions, conditional statements like If Else and while or Switch based on the requirements to get the correct result set. Write complex stored procedures and functions on extraction and transformation based on the business requirements. Analyzing blockings, Locks, Deadlocks and handling the Isolation Levels and Concurrency Effects. Enhance performance using optimization techniques-normalization, indexing and Row Versioning. Solve complex data modeling challenges effectively using Logical and Physical models generated from ERwin Data Model Tool. Responsible for Designing and Developing of SQL Programs for masking sensitive PHI and PII Data. Responsible for customizing IBM Optim Tool for obfuscating sensitive citizen information required for Oregon Health Authority-MAGI Medicaid Case Management Project. Effectively masking the sensitive PII and PHI Citizens data. Customize IBM Optim tool to meet the project demand. Reduce the turnaround time of bug fixing by providing the Production Obfuscated data to Development and Functional team for faster analysis of issues. Evaluate existing database programs and recommend improvements for performance efficiency. Develop best practices for database design and development activities. Implement Transparent Data Encryption using SQL server 128-bit AES, 192-bit AES, and 256-bit AES Algorithms. Read and Extract data from legacy source systems that are going to be sunset and replaced by Oregon Health Authority-MAGI Medicaid Case Management Project. Load the extracted and cleansed data to the Sql server databases. Responsible for Performance Tuning and Query Optimization. Work on creating complex queries to get the required data by using temp or scalar tables as necessary and perform the data manipulation on the scalar tables and then query it to get the required fields for the end user on the SSRS reports. Work on gathering the required data from database using various common SQL functions. Create various counters especially for monitoring the backend SQL queries like Open connections, % Query repositioning rate, Hard and soft throttled connections and Heartbeat time etc. which will help in fine tuning the queries and improve faster execution. Remove unwanted joins and always set nocount on and make sure there is no lock happening on certain table during query execution. Responsible for creating SSRS Reports using Microsoft Reporting services for Oregon Health Authority-MAGI Medicaid Case Management Project. Develop drill down reports as per the business requirements Multi-level drill through reports with aggregate at each levelto give a very good interactive display for the end users. Ability to build parameterized SSRS Dashboards based on end user selection. Design and Develop different types of Report formats like charts, maps, sparklines, bars using SQL Server Reporting Services. Loading data into multiple tables using DB Management Tool like SQL*LOADER, Import/Export,SSIS packages and SQL Server Data Tools. Responsible for Applying critical Operating system and SQL server related patches. As a Lead Database Administrator and Database Developer responsible for maintaining the complete security of the Operating systems and sql server database programs and Analyzing Network Bandwidth. Identify security vulnerabilities and apply critical operating system patches and Hot fixes. Identify SQL Server related security vulnerabilities and hot fixes. Install Sql Server latest service packs and cumulative updates. Identify Network related bottleneck that could slow down database program execution speed.
