Position Title: Principal Embedded Software Engineer Experience: BS/MS/PhD Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 10+ years relevant experience Location: Bengaluru, India Role Description: NuCurrent is looking for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer who is motivated to work closely with a talented and diverse engineering group to bring hardware and software together to deliver end customer products. The candidate will work very closely with senior software and hardware engineers (internal and external partner teams) to design and bring custom wireless charging designs from scratch, mentor young engineer and exhibit strong cultural values that put the customer first, go beyond the standard, show strong ownership, innovate further, and show strong people skills. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Develop embedded software to operate wireless power systems in industries spanning consumer electronics, automotive, industrial and medical. Support the software development effort from spec development to software delivery of product-ready software code in wireless power embedded systems. Mentor young engineers and lead software development efforts on multiple different programs Engage with external Engineering Services partners to lead software development efforts Perform validation of the software releases provided by engineering services partners Lead communication with customer Interact with key IC partners to allow for seamless integration of embedded code into wireless reference platforms. Interact with key customers to integrate NuCurrents solution for embedded systems. Support customer and internal team meetings in the USA morning time (p.m. in India) ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with Internal and External software development teams to develop and deliver embedded software for various wireless power products and applications Work with the hardware engineering team to integrate features that have a high degree of hardware/software interaction Develop re-usable, modular, scalable embedded software that can be easily adopted into a diverse range of products. Work with management to establish software timelines and ensure timely delivery of products. Hold regular sprints/updates for external software development team Work collaboratively with strategic IC partners to integrate embedded software solutions. Contribute to the development of Intellectual Property. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Candidate must have on-the-job experience writing software for 8-bit or 32-bit bare metal systems in C Track record of shipping mixed-signal hardware including embedded micro-controllers. Good written & verbal communications skills, good interpersonal skills, and comfortable talking in front of management, key partners, and key customers. Ability to speak professionally in front of customers and technology partners Ability to understand electrical hardware schematics and PCB layout Experience with standard hardware bus interfaces, such as USB, UART, I2C and SPI Scripting (shell, batch, python) experience Demonstrated success in resolution of technical challenges leveraging strong problem-solving skills Ability to work individually, in small teams and with external engineering service providers Experience using version control systems such as Github, SVN, JIRA, Bugzilla PREFERABLE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Inshore and Offshore team management Experience with software verification & testing. Ability to be key member of small hardware "bring up" team. Experience with instrument control. Experience with NFC, AirFuel, or Qi wireless power standards. Experience with NXP microcontrollers. Linux kernel / driver experience. Machine Language/Assembler experience. C++ CLI/.Net experience. MATLAB experience. Low-level hardware design exposure. Experience with Altium
