Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in MySQL to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our MySQL databases. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems, as well as troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will have a strong background in MySQL administration and a proactive approach to database management. Responsibilities Database Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain MySQL database systems. Collaborate with developers to define database schema, tables, and relationships. Performance Monitoring And Optimization Monitor database performance and proactively identify areas for improvement. Optimize database queries and ensure efficient use of resources. Security And Access Control Implement and maintain. database security measures to protect sensitive data. Manage user access and permissions. Backup And Recovery Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity. Conduct regular data backups and perform recovery procedures as needed. Troubleshooting And Issue Resolution Diagnose and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner. Work with cross-functional teams to address application/database integration issues. Database Upgrades And Patch Management Plan and execute MySQL database upgrades. Stay informed about the latest MySQL releases and apply patches as needed. Documentation Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations and procedures. Develop and update disaster recovery plans. Collaboration Collaborate with system administrators and other IT staff to ensure seamless integration with other systems. Work closely with development teams to support database requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience of atleast 2+ Years as a Database Administrator with a focus on MySQL. Strong understanding of database design principles and normalization. Proficient in MySQL database management and administration. Experience in performance tuning and optimization. Knowledge of database security best practices. Familiarity with backup and recovery processes. Ability to troubleshoot database-related issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Relevant certifications (e.g. MySQL Database Administrator) are a plus. Preferred Skills Experience with other relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle). Knowledge of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database for MySQL). Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages. Understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solutions
