As a IT Security and Network Engineer, this is what youll be doing: Design, implement, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including. LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, and wireless networks. Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize network configurations for optimal performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner. Ensure network availability and implement redundancy measures to minimize downtime. Develop and implement network security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard the organization's systems and data. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential risks and vulnerabilities. Stay up to date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to proactively mitigate risks. Provide technical support and advice to QS end-users who are experiencing problems with software, hardware, or other computer-related issues. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems. This may involve researching solutions online, consulting with colleagues, or utilizing specialized technical knowledge. Plan and lead projects related to IT Support, such as implementing new systems, upgrading existing ones and/or co-ordinating Office plan re-fits or Office relocations. Develop training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of hardware and software. Mentor junior team members and foster their professional development. Establish key performance metrics for the IT support team in collaboration with team members and Manager. Regularly review these metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Act as a liaison between the end-users and the IT department or software vendors, if necessary, to resolve problems. Participate in the hiring process for new technical support team members, conducting interviews, skill evaluations, and making hiring recommendations. Participate in the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures. This can include everything from security protocols, data privacy regulations to standard procedures for handling support requests. Key skills and experience: A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is often required. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: O365 Fundamentals, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP or others may be beneficial. Proven experience as a Network Engineer or Security Engineer, with a focus on network infrastructure and security. Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). At least 5 years experience in an IT technical support role. Proficiency in using various software and hardware, internet applications, and operating systems. Strong problem-solving skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop, maintain and train people in IT policies, procedures, and good practice. Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
