Technical Special - Java Developer - Network @ Dimension Data

Job Requirement:

• Three (3) to five (5) years industry experience in object oriented programming languages, preferably in Java.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and optimize network operation tasks by automation or half-automation.
• Producing clean, well-documented and efficient code based on specification, testing and deploying programs and systems and fixing/improving existing software.

Desired Experience:

• Demonstrated ability to analyse and optimize network operations day to day tasks through automation;
• Basic to competent skills in automation platforms, including but not limited to Ansible
• Strong programming skills desirable, including Java, Python, Perl and TCL (Java preferred).
• Experience on frameworks like ZK and JavaServer Faces
• Strong experience in REST API programming
• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
• Experience in Oracle SQL
• Basic knowledge about network protocols like HSRP/VRRP, OSPF, BGP, QOS, ACL's, and IP multicast;
• Basic understanding of Cisco IOS and NX-OS products and configuration; experience with F5, Juniper, Extreme, Checkpoint
• Knowledge about ServiceNOW API
• Experience with network management protocols (SNMP) required and commercial network management products
• Familiarity with Splunk and generating metadata from syslog, SNMP trap, and other machine-generated data a plus
• Excellent team worker, able to work in virtual global teams in a matrix organization
• Strong communication skills, fluent in English (written/verbal)
• Proficiency in Linux
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills.
