Title: Oracle and PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) Work Location: Bangalore Type: Fulltime Job Title: Oracle and PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) Position Overview: As an Oracle and PostgreSQL DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance, integrity, and security of our database systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration, with the ability to manage, monitor, and troubleshoot these systems to meet the organization's business needs. Responsibilities: Database Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL database software. Ensure proper setup and configuration for optimal performance. Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance issues. Conduct regular performance tuning and optimization activities. Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage database. backup and recovery strategies for both Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. Perform regular backup validations to ensure data integrity. Security and Access Control: Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the databases. Manage user access and permissions, ensuring compliance with security policies. Database Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute database upgrades and patching for both Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. Stay informed about the latest updates and security patches. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve database-related issues promptly. Provide on-call support as needed. Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with development and IT teams to understand database requirements. Document database architecture, configurations, and procedures. Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and recommend improvements based on future growth. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL. Solid understanding of database architecture, design, and best practices. Strong knowledge of SQL and database scripting. Experience in database performance tuning and optimization. Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies for Oracle RDBMS and PostgreSQL. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Oracle and PostgreSQL certifications are a plus
