About this Job: Were looking for a database administrator.The individual in this role will be responsible for design, implementation and administration for our databases, as well as mentoring of lower level database administrators. Rationale: As a key member of the database team, the DBA will require an in-depth understanding of large data warehouse management, information security and engineering, implementation, operations, and support. This individual will need to possess an understanding of application and infrastructure services and technologies. The role is part of a high-performing team in a fast-paced organization, requiring customer and business focus and demonstrated skills/experience associated with leadership, management, and technology. Responsibilities: Provide support for, Postgres, and MongoDB Atlas Facilitate problem resolution by coordinating between the DBA team, affected application teams. other technology teams and vendor support Adhere to change control procedures Implement and monitor activities - monitoring, backups, troubleshooting, security, user maintenance, reporting, migrations, upgrades, data copying, etc Architect database solutions to optimally meet business needs Work with application teams on database design and database issues Shell scripting, stored procs, SQL, query tuning, etc Execute company initiatives in the database space Implement schema changes at direction of AppDev Disaster recovery and database restoration Recovery from backups Automation of routine tasks Qualifications 2 or more years of applicable database experience Flexible work hours - willingness to work different shifts as needed and attend occasional calls outside of normal work hours. Some experience with at least one of PostgreSQL, and MongoDB Atlas. Willingness to learn the others Understanding of database system concepts ACID properties, normal forms, backup and recovery mechanisms, DDL vs DML, transaction logging, log shipping, etc Basic understanding of cloud environments, preferably Azure and AWS Data warehouse experience A passion and energy for learning and improving. Willing to embrace change. Excellent English communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interface across cross-functional technology teams and the business B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field strongly preferred Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Health insurance Schedule: Day shift Application Question(s): Notice period in the current organisation Experience: total work: 2 years (Preferred) Work Location: In person
