Job Description
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY - PROGRAM MANAGER
Medha has recently launched a new venture for supporting youth to become self-employed, job-creators instead of jobseekers. We have been testing out various models around supporting self-employment. One of the models currently being piloted in eastern Uttar Pradesh is about empowering rural youth, especially girls, to become "Teampreneurs" (freelancers), sustainably engaged in the gig economy for income generation. The pilot project will reach out to over 1000 youth from Mirzapur in addition to over 500 Medha alumni from Faizabad and Gorakhpur, with various interventions around supporting youth to evolve as sustainable "Teampreneurs." Medha would eventually want to scale up the pilot, using a technology platform that facilitates freelancers to engage with opportunities in the gig market.
We are looking for a passionate development practitioner, with excellent field (community engagement & development) skills to manage the pilot project and eventually take it to scale. The work will involve extensive fieldwork in Mirzapur and other nearby districts, in addition to managing a small team, planning, monitoring and reporting the progress on key metrics. As this is a new undertaking for Medha, the candidate should be extremely entrepreneurial to make tactical decisions on ground independently, and problem solve as and when needed, without waiting for micro-instructions from the head office.

QUALIFICATIONS/PRIOR EXPERIENCE
We are open to candidates with diverse and varied backgrounds. These are just a guideline:
- MBA/PGDM/PG development studies, relevant work experience will be an added advantage
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (proficiency in Hindi)
- Strong convincing and people management skills
- Sales and business development acumen
- Using data for informed decision making
- Proficient in MS Office, being tech savvy will be an advantage
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will manage the following lifecycle of the project:
- Participate in creating a detailed project execution plan: defining project scope, goals, deliverables and timelines
- Monitor & track project deliverables using appropriate tools and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
- Strategize, implement, and lead project initiatives to achieve desired objectives
- Lead mobilization and relationship building efforts in field with - students, schools & colleges, enterprises and local community
- Responsible for project reporting and coordinating with different departments within the organization
- Build, guide and support local project team to achieve the project outputs
- Formulate, coordinate, strengthen and liaison with different stakeholders in the region
- Manage budget and expense to maximize productivity

This is a full-time employment position based in Mirzapur. Total emoluments include Salary plus EPF, annual bonus, medical and accident insurance, and other benefits.
