Job Title Wildlife Project Manager Company Description The Grasslands Trust is a charitable trust based in Pune that is dedicated to the conservation of wildlife found in grassland and scrubland habitats. The trust engages in activities such as grassland habitat restoration, tracking wildlife, documenting natural history, conducting wildlife awareness programs, promoting eco-tourism and collaborations with local communities and institutions for sustainable conservation. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role as a Wildlife Project Manager located in Pune. The Wildlife Project Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of various projects related to wildlife conservation and will participate in project creation, budgeting, and delivery. The Wildlife Project Manager will also be responsible for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders including government authorities, creating reports, driving team performance, and ensuring project. success with timely and effective management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in testing and implementing a mobile/web-based app for villagers to enter their wildlife observation and incidences data, coordinating wildlife watcher training on-field, community awareness programs, and the management of surveillance and trail cameras. Responsibilities Organize and conduct wildlife watcher training sessions to educate and empower local villagers in wildlife monitoring and conservation techniques. Lead community awareness programs to foster a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation and promote sustainable practices. Manage surveillance and trail cameras, including deployment, data collection, and troubleshooting. Provide training to village wildlife watchers on camera management and data entry procedures. Liaise with village wildlife watchers and forest department officials to ensure smooth coordination, data entry, and problem-solving. Test and implement a photo management system and wildlife watcher mobile/web application to streamline data collection and reporting processes. Requirements Passion for wildlife conservation and a commitment to community engagement. Proven experience in project management, preferably in wildlife conservation or community development. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in data management and analysis. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late nights, as per field requirements. Seniority level: Mid-level. Salary: INR 30,000 - 40,000 per month. Contract: 2 years.
