Job Description
1.1 Responsibilities1. Design the required test strategy in line with the scope and organization standards.
2. Create the software test plan, get it reviewed and approved/ signed-off by the relevant superior.
3. Evaluate and identify the required test automation and test management tools.
4. Estimate the test effort and team.
5. Create the test schedule and helping during the product releases.
6. Identify the training requirements of the Software Test Engineers.
7. Identify any test metrics to be gathered.
8. Communicate with the client or on site/ offshore team members, as required.
9. Review the test cases and test data generated by the Software Test Engineers and get them to address the review comments.
10. Track the new/ updated requirements in the project and modify testing artifacts accordingly.
11. Determine, procure, control, maintain and optimize the test environment.
12. Create and maintain the required test framework
13. Administer the project in the test management system
14. Administer the Application under test as required.
15. Work allocation and daily review of the work allocated to the team members.
16. Check the status of each assigned task daily and resolve any issues faced by the team members with their tasks.
17. Re-assign the testing tasks, as required.
1.2 Desired Skills
1. At least 8+ years of IT QA experience with no less than 5 years of scripting experience and 5+ years of Lead experience delivering successful products in agile/ iterative / V-model /waterfall environment.
2. Strong Automated Test tool proficiency with Practical experience on any Automation framework/scripting like UFT/ QTP.
3. Strong Manual testing proficiency using Quality assurance Test Engineering techniques, methodologies and best practices leveraging any test management tools such as HP quality Center, Mantis, TFS, Redmine, SVN.
4. Must have knowledge of various CMM/ ISTQB certification of QA process and must be able to get the QA process certified through his/her own knowledge and experience.
5. Must have successful track record of leading and directing the team, define quality process and train the existing team.
6. Must be able to design QA documentation.
7. Must have knowledge of White Box Testing.
8. Experience on using necessary tools and documentation for the software product quality management.
9. Must be able to report to top management.
