Job Description

Responsibilities:

* Performing a mix of front-end and back-end development on new and existing Magento websites and modules.

* Developing new integrations and custom extensions.

* Troubleshooting and resolving bugs found in existing Magento Installations.

* Performing a mix of front-end and back-end development on new and existing Magento websites and modules.

* Integrating Magento with other third-party systems.

* Using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other related development technologies, performing various coding tasks, such as design, development and testing of web front-end, web-based applications, and webservices.

* Reporting project status and updates to IT and business management.

* Supporting the maintenance and technical configuration of ecommerce environments.

* Acting independently on the majority of functional and processes tasks with minimal supervision or assistance.

* Communicating with the business, vendors, and other IT team members for troubleshooting and enhancements/upgrades.

Necessary Skill:

* At least 2+ years of experience working with Magento 1.x.

* Skilled with all aspects of Magento setup, optimization and configuration.

* Knowledge of Magento development best practices, including extending existing functionality, creating custom modules, working with its API, theming hierarchy, code structure, extension architecture, and the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern.

* Proven experience building custom Magento extensions.

* Proven experience with customer theming of Magento stores.

* Experience integrating Magento with other third-party systems (ERP, WHM, Logistics, APIs).

* Experience using PHP to create and consume web services (e.g. SOAP, REST) .

* Solid experience interacting with MySQL database systems through abstraction layer

* Front-end development experience with strong JavaScript skills (including frameworks/libraries such as jQuery) as well as familiarity with accepted CSS, CSS preprocessors, and HTML design standards.

*Knowledge of Git and version control best practices.

Nice to have:

* A Magento Developer Certification

* Experience with the Magento 2 Functional Testing Framework (FTF).

* Experience working at a Magento Certified Solution Integration partner company

* Experience with Photoshop, Fireworks, or equivalent.

* Experience with caching and scaling techniques.

* Experience writing raw SQL queries.

* Experience working in an environment with onshore, nearshore and offshore resources.

* Have strong analytical and problem solving skills and a keen attention to detail.

* Understand the importance of proper coding, testing and deployment standards.

* Show a passion and track record for delivering solid, secure, stable and performant solutions

* Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to 'think outside the box' to assess and solve issues safely and quickly while under time-pressure

* Are able to support end users with process questions and problems on the management and use of Magento websites.
