Job Title: Journalist*

Job Summary:
As a journalist, you will be responsible for researching, investigating, and reporting on news events, trends, and stories of public interest. You will gather information through interviews, observation, and research, and then craft compelling written or multimedia stories for publication in various media outlets.

Responsibilities:

1. Researching and Investigating: Conduct thorough research and investigations to uncover news stories and relevant information. This may involve interviewing sources, attending events, and analyzing data.

2. Interviewing: Conduct interviews with a variety of sources, including experts, witnesses, and individuals involved in news events. Gather quotes and insights to include in news stories.

3. Writing and Editing: Write clear, concise, and engaging news stories for print, online, or broadcast media. Edit and revise content as necessary to ensure accuracy and clarity.

4. Fact-Checking: Verify the accuracy of information gathered through research and interviews. Fact-check all content before publication to maintain journalistic integrity.

5. Adhering to Ethical Standards: Maintain high ethical standards in all aspects of reporting, including accuracy, fairness, and objectivity. Adhere to the principles of journalistic integrity and avoid conflicts of interest.

6. Meeting Deadlines: Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines for submitting stories and articles for publication. Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and complete assignments on schedule.

7. Adapting to New Technologies: Stay current with advancements in digital and multimedia journalism. Adapt to new technologies and platforms for content creation and distribution.

8. Collaborating with Editors and Team Members: Work closely with editors, photographers, videographers, and other team members to produce high-quality news content. Collaborate on story ideas, coverage plans, and multimedia projects.

9. Covering a Variety of Topics: Be prepared to cover a wide range of topics, business, science, technology, culture, and human interest stories.

Qualifications:

1. Strong writing and storytelling skills.
2. Excellent research and investigative abilities.
3. Proficiency in digital media tools and platforms.
4. Strong ethical standards and commitment to journalistic integrity.
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Previous experience in journalism, either through internships or work at school publications, is desirable but not mandatory.
