Job Description

Execute and automate cloud build process and track issues found. o Execute the documented build steps to configure a cloud system. o Debug and analyse problems found. o File defects and improvement requests on issues found. Propose fixes if possible. o Automate build process steps so that the process can be executed with a minimum of manual intervention e.g.wrapper scripts, use of Airflow, o Clarify the dependencies between build steps. o Provide dashboards so progress on defect fixes etc. can be tracked. Post-install validation o Propose, implement, and execute test cases to show the correct operation of the cloud system once installed. o Smoke tests for all services provided by the cloud. o Automation of tests so validation can be run repeatedly on a schedule. o Store results for later comparison. o Devise test framework and environment appropriate to the cloud system under test. o Document test setup and execution process permitting execution by others in the. org. o All tests and documentation to be checked into git. o Demos and training session for knowledge transfer to employees. Pre-install system reset. o Working with the SRE and service teams, devise a means to reset a configured cloud system to an initial state. All trace of a previous install must be removed. o Pre-install health and status check devise simple checks to ensure the system is correctly reset, and that the hardware is connected as required, and is operational. o Document the procedure thoroughly. All scripts to be documented and checked into git. o Demos and training session for knowledge transfer to employees. Skill Set: Datacenter knowledge VCenter knowledge Virtual networking (VxLAN, NSX-T) ESXi, Cluster, Storage, cloud volumes Python scripting Linux and infrastructure management tools Understand the installed hardware technology. Container technology (Docker/Kubernetes) Understanding of configuration management tools i.e., Ansible Experience in Testing Cloud administration Basic AWS Knowledge Required Competency Install and configure the on-premises setup and customer environments. Analyze, understand, apply knowledge, debug, look at logs, and troubleshoot issues. Ability to understand Python scripts, debug and troubleshoot. Follow and execute the runbooks/deployment guides. Understand the integration between the AWS SAAS platform and the on- prem hardware. Ability to apply knowledge, skills, and experience and work & address issues under pressure situations. Ability to understand the end-to-end solution and understanding of customer use cases Ability to work with partner teams on a day-to-day basis and at critical times
