We are looking to hire Database Administrator.
Below is the job description:
What does a successful Database Administrator Advisor - I do at FISERV ?
- Monitor and optimise the performance of databases to meet performance and service level agreement. Experience with OEM monitoring, Fog light and Splunk
- Performance monitoring, tuning, space and size management. Replication, partitioning, disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
- Database migration experience from Oracle 11g to 19c. Scripting, PL/SQL, shell, python. Broad experience in clustering high availability, ASM and Data Guard.
- Database Server Security, User Creation and Right Permission, Database and storage Encryption technologies (Data in motion and at rest).Understand the deployment process and provide recommendation on improving the process.
- Experience with ServiceNow. Participate in allocated DBA tasks, e.g. Oracle quarterly PSUs, Oracle upgrades, installations, backup and recovery, tuning, performance monitoring, day-to-day support, SQL Server patching.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Production incidents and participate in bridge calls in coordination with application support team in meeting the SLAs. Provide advice and guidance on database technology for new business systems
What will you do:
- Work with internal teams and vendors to resolve production issues. Participate in disaster recovery (BCP) exercises and on-call roster. Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for the company; scope and create automation for deployment, management, and visibility of our services.
- Perform Installation, configuration, customization, operation, recovery and troubleshooting of AIX/Linux / VMware servers in a Production and Build environment. Clustering and High availability management and other solutions. Apply Patches and Upgrades as necessary.
- Perform tasks for Backup and Recovery Management, automated backup and restore function using scripts.Candidate should be very good in Unix Scripting and should have written multiple Unix scripts. Perform Forecasting and Estimating Capacity Analysis.
- Cover on-call/Standby on rotation. Managing ticket queues for incidents/service requests & changes. Support 24x7 coverage as per Business needs
What will you need to know:
- Exposure to PostgreSQL, MySQL and Mongodb would be desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Oracle DBA :11g/12c19c-Multitenant on both UNIX/windows flavours with RMAN. Database backup / restoration. Oracle Data pump, Oracle patch upgrade, Database Provisioning
- Cloning, Upgrade, Migration, database refresh, space management, schema management, security management, OEM and performance tuning using Explain plan/SQL TRACE/AWR & ADDM, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, OEM, Shell scripting.
- Oracle RAC Database performance tuninig / Monitoring. Database capacity management
- Golden Gate experience: Installation, configuration of GG version of both 11g & 12c and maintenance of Unidirectional & bi-directional replication between Homogeneous (oracle 11g & 12c).
- Zero downtime database migration using oracle golden gate 12c/19c. MS SQL Server Database administration.
- Installation, Configuration, Maintenance & troubleshooting of SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012.Daily activities such as Index Management & Statistics, Backup jobs, SQL jobs & log space monitoring, DB & sql service availability check, user management with proper security levels & db refresh
What would be great to have:
- Working experience with toolsets such as JIRA and confluence.
- Demonstrated the ability in scripting and troubleshooting application errors in Linux/Unix environments with fine technical acumen
- Proven experience in risk-based systems running on Unix/Linux platforms along with OS clustering, partitioning and virtualization.Hands on experience on SAN/NAS storage
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast paced, cross-functional team environment.
- The ideal person will not only be up to speed with the technical requirements but will be able to demonstrate the following important behaviours. Good standard of communication skills, both written and verbal.
