We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network and System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in network and system administration, with a strong understanding of networking protocols, systems architecture, and security principles. As a Network and System Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our network infrastructure and systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and security.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other networking devices.
2. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
3. Configure and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, NAT, and VLANs.
4. Implement and maintain security measures to protect network infrastructure and data from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
5. Manage and administer servers running Windows, Linux, or other operating systems.
6. Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software, including virtualization technologies, RAID, LVM, NFS, Web services etc.
7. Perform routine system backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
8. Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies and solutions to meet business requirements.
9. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving issues related to network connectivity, systems performance, and software applications.
10. Document network and system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Requirements:
1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in network and system administration roles.
3. Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
4. Experience with network security principles and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
5. Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.
6. Hands-on experience with server operating systems, including Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
7. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and task scheduling.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
10. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are a plus.
