Honeywell Thermal Solutions is seeking an Sr professional in Hardware development to support our work developing burner management and control systems. This will be the key technical leader in the line of business locally with good visibility in the global organization. Your responsibilities are
Architect products at System/ Solution level with SIL2/SIL3 safety levels
Determining their (evolving) needs to be realized in hardware.
Lead / work with software architect or engineer(s), or with other mechanical or electrical engineers.
Ensuring that this set of high level requirements is consistent, complete, correct, and operationally defined .
Performing cost benefit analyses to determine the best methods or approaches for meeting the hardware requirements; making maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf or already developed components / modules.
Partitioning large hardware systems into (successive layers of) subsystems and components each of which can be handled by a single hardware engineer or team of engineers.
Ensuring that maximally robust hardware architecture is developed.
Generating a set of acceptance test requirements, together with the designers, test engineers , and the user, which determine that all of the high level hardware requirements have been met, especially for the computer-human-interface .
Generating products specifications, sketches, models , an early users manual, and prototypes to keep the user and the engineers constantly up to date and in agreement on the system to be provided as it is evolving
Make technical proposals, update to CTO level
File Invention disclosures
Develop Product and Project schedule and effort estimates
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
12+ years embedded product development.
Experience in leading Hardware design teams.
Experience is getting the products certified for compliance e .g. SIL, UL, CSA etc.
Exposure of working for heat treatment or Combustion applications
Knowledge of instrumentation like small controllers, valves etc.
Knowledge in the field of gas trains will be desirable.
Required Skills:
Good executive presence, Ability to present updates to sr leadership
Excellent teamwork in a dynamic project environment
Solid experience in schematic capture and PCB layout design software (Mentor Expedition , Cadence );
Expert in analog design (monolithic and linear amplifier, switching power supply, filters, etc.
Expert in digital hardware design ( ARM Cortex-A series/ M series, DSP etc.);
Experience in WIFI, Bluetooth preferred;
Excellent English (fluent in spoken and written);
Programming C, assembler, advantageous C++ and other languages is preferred
Skilled in MATLAB, Lab VIEW, C++, C, and/or Visual Basic.
Knowledge and Skills in resolving EMC issues
