Job Description
Position Overview:
As a Solution Architect specializing in Data Centers, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing data center solutions for our organization. Your architectural expertise, coupled with a background in B. Arch, will be instrumental in creating robust and efficient data center infrastructures that meet the evolving needs of our business. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, develop innovative solutions, and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
Job Description & Duties:
1. Data Center Design and Planning:
Lead the architectural design and planning of data center infrastructures, considering factors such as capacity, scalability, redundancy, and performance.
Evaluate existing data center architectures and propose enhancements or optimizations to meet current and future requirements.
2. Technology Evaluation and Selection:
Assess various technologies, hardware, and software solutions for data center environments, considering factors such as cost, performance, reliability, and compatibility.
Make recommendations on the selection of data center equipment, including servers, storage systems, networking components, and cooling systems.
3. Solution Development and Documentation:
Develop comprehensive solution architectures for data center projects, including network layouts, server configurations, storage architectures, and disaster recovery plans.
Create detailed technical documentation, diagrams, and specifications for data center solutions, ensuring clarity and alignment with business objectives.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with stakeholders from different departments, including IT, operations, and finance, to understand business requirements and align data center solutions accordingly.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure successful implementation and deployment of data center projects.
5. Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting:
Monitor the performance and efficiency of data center infrastructures, identifying areas for optimization and improvement.
Troubleshoot complex issues related to data center operations, infrastructure components, and connectivity, providing timely resolution and mitigation strategies.
6. Compliance and Security:
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to data center operations, security, and environmental sustainability.
Implement security measures and protocols to safeguard data center assets and mitigate potential risks or vulnerabilities.
Must have or optional (can be trained):
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex technical requirements and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong project management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results within budget constraints.
- Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in data center architecture, cloud computing, and digital transformation.
Work Experience & skills:
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in solution architecture, with a focus on data center design, planning, and implementation.
- Strong understanding of data center technologies, including servers, storage systems, networking infrastructure, and virtualization platforms.
- Proficiency in architectural design tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software applications.
Academic Qualification:
Bachelors degree in architecture (B. Arch) or related field
