Job Description
A highly skilled and experienced Civil & Structural Expert to take on the responsibility of overseeing the construction of a 220/33kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) and allied 220kV Transmission Line. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of civil and structural aspects of the project, including reviewing designs, managing site activities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Role & responsibilities
1) Review of Structural & Civil Designs:
- Review structural and civil designs and drawings for the substation and transmission line to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Identify any design issues or discrepancies and collaborate with the design team to address them effectively.
2) Construction Oversight:
- Oversee all civil and structural activities related to the construction of substation and transmission line.
- Monitor progress and quality of work at the site to ensure adherence to project specifications, approved drawings, and timelines.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction activities meet high standards of safety and quality.
3) Site Management:
- Manage day-to-day site activities, including coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth progress of work.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify any issues or concerns and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
4) Stakeholder Coordination:
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities, regarding civil and structural matters.
- Liaise with project management team to provide updates on construction progress, challenges, and potential risks.
5) Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including site reports, inspection reports, and documentation of any changes or deviations from the original plans.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the project management team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions.
Preferred candidate profile
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. (Civil) / preference shall be given in case of Higher Educational qualifications.
Experience: more than 10 Years of relevant experience
- Extensive experience in civil and structural aspects of construction projects, particularly in EHV substations and transmission lines.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in reviewing structural and civil designs, drawings and conducting site inspections.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Experience Design Softwares like Auto CAD, Staad Pro etc.
