Job Description
Who you are:
TraceLink is seeking an experienced full time Software Engineer to join our team to help build our new user experience infrastructure. If you?ve got a solid background in Java development including Java 8 , APIs, and microservices in Saas environments, and if you?re highly motivated and looking for a chance to make a real contribution on a high profile project, you could be a good fit for our team.
The Software Engineer II will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of cutting edge cloud applications, running in our sophisticated, Kubernetes (AWS EKS) hosted, RxJava/Vert.x cloud platform, the Digital Network Platform (DNP). All of this within the Life Sciences / Pharma supply chain domain.
You will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of React user interface code, components, and scripting, within a SPA supported by a sophisticated, AWS EKS hosted, cloud platform.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Join Tracelink Platform Development team and become a core contributor to our new serverless cloud platform.
- Architect, design, develop, and deploy new microservices in AWS ECS and EKS environment.
- Perform deep dives into system, reliability, and performance issues; Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: cloud infrastructure, third - party software, application and network.
- Interact with cloud operation team to address and debug platform and application related issues.
- Play a lead role in the planning and design of our cloud platform and security architectures.
- Participate in code reviews for platform projects, built on open source software and deployed in cloud.
- Develop applications that implement supply chain business features and associated APIs within the DNP platform.
- Bring creativity and collaboration to design and problem solving
- Write code with quality in mind; proficient in writing unit tests to ensure high code quality
- Work closely with our QA team; assist with test planning as appropriate
- Reliably execute on assigned tasks while keeping the big picture in mind
- Grasp business knowledge quickly
- Work with your team to estimate tasks, and provide regular status updates as part of our scrum - based Agile development process
- Actively participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle
- BS/MS degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent required
- 6 years of Java software development experience
- 1 - 2 years of JavaScript software development experience
- 1 years of Java 8 software development experience
- Experience in RxJava, Vert.x or JS is a plus
- Collaborative mindset
- Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and clearly, and collaborate with other disciplines
