Software Engineer II - Pune - Tsys - 2 to 6

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

• Will be responsible for assisting and resolving issues for the Developers, DBA's, and Release Management team with Linux or AIX issues
• Builds and deploys releases and patches
• Configure new user environments, set up password-less authentication
• Analyze and resolve UNIX or Linux problems associated with applications, software, and the servers. This will include directory and file system permissions, sudo access
• Understanding of virtualization, memory, and paging
• Add new certificates into Java keystore files on Tomcat servers

What Are We Looking for in This Role?

• Experience using source control (Git, SVN), and Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins, XL Release)
• Knowledge of OWASP is a plus
• Ability to work with minimal direction - self-starter
• Excellent knowledge of UNIX commands and shell scripting
• UNIX and Linux administration experience
• Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize tasks

What Are Our Desired Skills and Capabilities?

• 5 - 6 years of relevant professional experience in managing Linux/Unix servers and Unix Administration
• 5 - 6 years of hands-on experience with at least one scripting language (Bash, KSH, Perl, and Python)
• 2 - 4 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional communication skills, both in written and in verbal form are required due to the extensively collaborative role.
• Experience with Jenkins, XL Release, version control, subversion, or Git
• Must be a quick learner with have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to work well within a team
• Release Management experience
