Job Description

Education : BE / MS in Computer Science or Equivalent

Experience : 10 to 15 years experience post qualification with Global company.

: 5+years of experience administering Linux or Unix servers

Salary : Appropriate with experience level and based on current salary

The Role : DevOps cum Support Group Manager. This position is technical in nature but also has its share of people management.

Essential Duties / Principal Responsibilities:

1. Expand the existing DevOps team to become a world class Production and Development Operations team.

Introduce best hiring practices and enhance the current hiring practices. Use Hacker Rack to filter our candidates and then be able to have technical interview session with candidates.

Develop latest DevOps (AWS, kubernetes, docker, bitbucket pipelines etc) expertise among team members

2. Work with software development teams to define development and QA environments and stick to delivery commitments working with project managers.

3. Promote on time completion of all DevOps tasks for all project across the globe

4. Establish a review process so that all the tasks completed by the ITC team requires minimum correction or review by the US team.

5. Hire and build the infrastructure and application support group. Establish L1/L2 and escalation procedures.

6. Management of all ITC resources in his/her groups, mentoring, and enhancing their skill set and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team.

7. Perform periodic CPG(performance evaluation) and track progress of all the group's employees.

8. Establish Resource Utilization processes and tracking the time spent per project to its employees so that customers can be billed accurately. Generate and provide to upper management resource utilization reports periodically.

9. Be a hands-on technical leader and contributor.

Skills, Abilities, License / Certification:

1. Relevant DevOps experience, specifically in the following-docker, kubernetes, bitbucket pipelines(preferred), Jenkins, AWS, terraform or configuration management (ansible / salt/ chef).

2. Also proficient in a scripting language like shell, perl, python and its associated tools like vi.

3. Someone who has been doing this for a long time that can step right in and get to work with very little training required.

4. Ability to communicate effectively in writing, orally with both local and remote sites

5. Demonstrated leadership in DevOps, people management, managing the expectations of all the internal and external customers

6. Demonstrated people management skills in earlier assignments

7. Ability to work on a globally distributed team
