Job Description

Purpose of the position: To help improve IT Security throughout Linde via the following actions;
Coordinating actions across IT teams to ensure targeted improvements are realised.
Protect the Information Assets of the Linde Group
To identify areas of weakness that create a security threat for the Group and to work effectively with other IT teams to quantify the risk and design processes to ensure transparent reporting. Be able to influence stakeholders in order to achieve this objective.
To liaise with external and internal audit on specific topics as directed by Director IT Risk & Compliance
To work effectively as a member of the IT Compliance Team and be recognised by the wider IT community as providing useful and expert skills.
Visiting countries to review their controls across a wide range of IT infrastructure, applications and processes and advise on specific improvements.
Working with technical teams to understand complex issues and then identify how security weaknesses can be reduced.
Assist at regular meetings with key IT Managers in the regions to brief them on initiatives for making improvements to controls.
Facilitate agreement of Crown Jewels Apps and Critical Sites and maintain Vulnerability Scanning scope and Pentest schedule accordingly Principal responsibilities: Assist with risk assessments used to prioritise security initiatives. Obtain suitable approval for significant risks that are to remain unmitigated.
Carry out ad-hoc exercises that are needed to improve controls within IT, either in a country, region or globally.
Conduct security risk tests, e.g. vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and relevant Business Impact analysis accordingly
Expert position with focus on design, architecture, concepts, advice, review and on-going evaluation of Security for IT Information Security operated by internal or external operating units
Identify new areas of weakness that create a security threat for the Group and work effectively with other IT teams to quantify the risk. Raise awareness so that remedial actions are taken and provide management reporting to monitor improvements.
Investigates major security breaches, e.g. Infrastructure attacks and conduct Incident Reviews to indentify areas for improvement
Raise the overall level of security and resilience by providing assistance to IT Departments on specific topics agreed with the Director Risk & Compliance. These topics could cover any aspect of IT e.g. BCP, SAP GRC reporting, risk assessments, vulnerability assessments etc.
Support projects with new business requirements and provide specialist advice on security issues and implications
Support the Director IT Risk & Compliance in the definition of Corporate Information Security Policies, Standards and Processes for IT Infrastructure and Applications
Support the Director IT Risk & Compliance in the reporting of the current IT Information Security Risks
Supports the operational teams to interpret Security Policies, Standards and Processes and apply accordingly in IT Infrastructure and Applications
To perform checks on SAP systems remotely to ensure any security weaknesses are identified. Coordinate the remedial actions between the regional and central IT teams.

Functional and Technical Competence. Good knowledge of the security issues across different IT areas and the ability to analyse qualitative information and/or generate original ideas for improvements.
Good technical knowledge across a range of IT topics and excellent technical knowledge in some depending on previous experience.
Impress colleagues with the quality of work produced and through the ability to deliver successful solutions within own area of expertise.
International profile with ability to motivate and influence people
Negotiation & Conflict Resolution (Influencing). Work effectively with operational and regional teams throughout Linde to improve KPI reporting which results in real improvements to security.
Operates ethically and with integrity
Personal Development. Acquire and maintain a recognised IT security qualification e.g. ITACAs CITA, and keep up to date with security threats.

Required key skills (functional/technical):

Ability to identify and resolve problems.
Ability to identify security issues and ways to explain their significance to non-technical managers so that action is taken to resolve them.
Ability to plan own workload so as to multi-task across several assignments
Ability to work as part of a geographically spread team and have impact and influence with process owners and control operators.
Attention to detail and follow through to completion.
Being able to manage cultural differences
Experience in Interaction with large scale outsourcing partners
Good awareness of how different IT teams integrate and interact to be able to drive improvement initiatives.
Good knowledge of cyber security risks and IT controls that can be deployed to mitigate these. Practical experience of analysing Vulnerability Scans and performing Penetration Testing.
In a highly complex and technical environment have the ability to simplify and resolve ambiguity down to specific tasks that will result in real security improvements.
One special technical skill set, e.g. excellent knowledge in network/network security technologies
Qualification awarded by a recognised body to prove knowledge and understanding of IT controls and security e.g. ITACA.
Strong communication skills both written and spoken

Required qualifications/experience:

A degree or equivalent from a reputed institute
Able to interact with different cultures
Experience in working effectively in offshore/ globally dispersed teams
Knowledge of Infrastructure Penetration Testing
Management and technical experience and preferably professional Security Manager Certification
Should have overall 10 years of IT experience with 5 years of experience in a relevant field with reputable companies
