LOCATION: Bangalore, India
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide analytical tools development support and production business support to support underwriting technical cat pricing and portfolio modeling
KEY RESPONSIBILITES, INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Responsible for design, development, deployment, maintenance and production support of our applications and its various modules using various technologies
- Write high - quality software code that complies with design specifications and meets development and support requirements
- Develop production ready code modules and collaborate with IT functions to integrate into production workflow as required
- Develop analytical proof - of - concepts quickly to respond to business needs and to determine feasibility and viability
- Analyze, customize, test, and support application extensions provided by approved open - source and third - party vendors
- Take ownership of existing code and applications and advise on best practices for enhancing tools
- System maintenance, documentation, and version control
- Responsible for production business support of various analytical tools
- Collaborate with team members in other countries and regions to deliver business requirements
- Other duties as required

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or mathematics/statistics
- Preferred minimum of 7 years of working experience in technical software development
- Strong hand - on programming experience with Python and .NET is required;
- Strong hands - on experience with SQL and Stored Procedure database development (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, SnowFlake) is required; Experience handling large data bases is required
- Experience with Big data (e.g. Hadoop) and Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS) would be highly preferable
- Experience with scientific or mathematical programming is required
- Experience with hardcore server - side coding
- Experience with Linx/Unix scripting is highly preferred
- Experience with Geo - spatial and Reporting Visualization is highly preferred
- Strong background in object oriented programming, design patterns, algorithms, and data structures
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with responding to production business queries and issues in a timely manner
- Practical knowledge of production considerations, such as version control, code libraries, source control systems, documentation, code reviews, automation testing tools and methodology
- Experience in Insurance/Reinsurance domain is highly desirable
