Sr. Database Consultant

Location: Sector 62, Noida

Basic Qualifications:

1.Oracle database design, development and administration; AWS RDS.

2.Oracle planning resources, database upgrades, backup & recovery strategy, implementations, and environment transitions (development, test, stage, and production)

3.Oracle database loading, development and management of operational procedures, environment management and database health (including database tuning and/or performance monitoring)

4.Database deployment and administration to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud

5.Database security processes and implementation

6.Database administration scripting

7.Knowledge of Unix, Solaris and/or Linux operating systems

8.Knowledge of Windows operating system and System development life cycle

9.Technical and analytical problem-solving skills

10.Develop best practices and enforce these standards across the team

11.Remain up to date with developments and trends in the database arena

12.Knowledge about database licensing limitations

Job Key Responsibilities

1.Install and maintain complex Oracle databases including all aspects of high availability, backup/recovery, security, integrity, performance tuning

2.DBA support for Oracle production, disaster recovery and non-production environments, including new database server installation and configurations, minor/major upgrades, system certifications, and implementations - both on-prem and cloud.

3.Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize SQL queries/views and PL/SQL programs; Comfortable with analyzing query explain plans and recommending performance improvements.

4.Provide ongoing maintenance and support of database schemas and views

5.Conduct root cause analysis and resolve production problems and data issues

6.Provide extensive support for performance tuning and monitoring various databases. Support various business and application teams for database performance tuning related to business requirements.

7.Improve uptime and reduce unplanned downtime through automation and proactive monitoring

8.Database deployments on Windows, AWS/Azure, and Linux platforms.

9.Automate database installation, configuration, management standards, monitoring, and procedures based on industry best practices

10.Develop best practices and enforce these standards across the team

Work Experience/ Knowledge

• Excellent problem-solving skills and able to handle multiple issues
• Advanced proficiency with PL/SQL Packages/Functions/Procedures programming and debugging, Oracle Collection and Object Types
• AWS RDS - Oracle knowledge is a must
• Solid understanding of Oracle Database Architecture
• Terraform experience in AWS is desired
• 5+ years of experience performing database performance analysis, system and statement SQL tuning

Handling multiple tasks and balancing multiple objectives, while consistently ensuring that highest priority commitments are delivered on schedule

Docker Containers would be an added benefit

BI Tools (Birst, PowerBI, etc.) knowledge is desirable

Desire to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Naturally curious and resourceful with an aptitude for learning new tools and technologies

Formal Education

A Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred.

Should be certified in Oracle
