Assistant Manager - Product Development @ SeedWorks

Educational Qualification: BSc (Agriculture) preferably MSc (Agriculture)

Experience: Two to three years in a Product Development role

Reports To: Head of Product Development

Job Description/ Responsibilities

Job Purpose

• To evaluate pipeline products in different agro - climatic zones at pre - commercial stage and offer technical support to the sales team

Key Accountabilities

• Product evaluation & fitment plan for and execute evaluation and advise on product fitment based on results
  • Select the fields which are most suitable to the crop for product evaluation
  • Shortlist products received from the research and development team in the assigned territories
  • Evaluate, using protocols, the products which meet the market benchmarks
  • Consider market and farmer requirements such as yield, disease resistance, appearance etc. as the evaluation parameters
  • Test products that have been evaluated across different potential areas
• Monitoring the testing execute product testing according to protocols and collate data for analysis
  • Involve and monitor the assigned field staff at each stage
  • Select the appropriate lands from the farmer owned lands shortlisted by the field staff ensuring that they are the representative samples of the area
  • Monitor and ensure that the process from sowing to harvesting is following the protocol for hybrid and control
  • Record data, starting 7 days after sowing, at every stage and capture the data real time on the Effortplus app
  • Fix the labour costs where required sowing costs and picking costs because of the added labour required
• Competitor analysis and Product positioning Elucidate the value proposition of the product based on agronomy trials
  • Benchmark hybrid vis - a - vie the market leader
  • Plan 1 - 2 crop - tours with all other departments for trial shows where the positives and negatives of each crop are shared
  • Elucidate the value proposition of the product based on agronomy trials
• Support to the sales team offer technical support in terms of product details and support addressing customer complaints/queries
  • Technical Trainings to sales teams and technical know - how to the customer
