Job Description
We are looking for Process Safety Engineer at our Vizag Site.
Requirements for Process safety Engineer:
- Knowledge of Process Engineering, Mass & Heat Transfer Operation, Process Equipment design, Unit operations.
- Knowledge on Process flow diagrams, PID Designing, Hazard Identification and process hazard Analysis (PHA)
- Conversant with Risk assessment and HAZOP studies by using chemical hazardous properties and process thermal properties.
- Knowledge on Bench screening techniques like Cheetah, Oxygen Balance and Benson group additive methods.
- Experience on Implementation of all elements of PSM system in the company.
- Participate in Pre-Start up Safety Reviews (PSSRs) prior to start up of new or modified processes or equipment. Periodically review site PSSRs for quality and completeness.
- Provide EHS support for the review and assessment of capital projects for PSM related requirements.
- Evaluate the changes proposed from PSM perspective and advise accordingly for effective controls.
- Knowledge on consequence modelling of chemical releases including dispersion of toxic substances, overpressure damage from explosions, and heat exposure from flash and pool fires.
- Knowledge on powder safety tests, its interpretation and control measures.
- Coordinating with third party testing laboratories and R&D for DSC, RC and ARC studies. Able to interpret the data and guide the production team for implementation of control measures.
- Manage external suppliers for process risk assessments, consequence modelling, pressure relief system calculations, dust characterization and safety instrumented system calculations.
- Conversant with calculations for pressure relief systems, Mass & Heat Transfer calculations.
- Provide awareness training to employees and contractors to ensure compliance with Process Safety Management Standards and process safety requirements
Requirements Chemical Engineering Graduate. Minimum 5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical/Petrochemical industry. Having knowledge of various risk assessment studies in chemical/pharmaceutical plants
