Job Description:
The KCP Engineering team is increasing capabilities to support projects in the oil, gas and chemicals, business unit of heavy engineering. There is a vacancy in the Tiruvottiyur (Chennai) office for professional with OG&C experience as project manager (Columns and their Internals/Pressure Vessels /Heat Exchanger/ Air cooled Ex/Filters/Tanks/Static Packages) qualified to degree level. A minimum of eight years industrial experience is required for this position. Candidate should have held a mid-level position (Responsible Engineer) in the Engineering team for execution of oil gas projects.
The project manager will report to the Head of Process Equipment and duties will include the following:
- Prepare risk identification and mitigation plan for high risk proposals with input from department/disciplines.
- Obtain work hours input from discipline/group and update the plan regularly.
- Prepare the project execution plan, project procedures, field fabrication procedure when required.
- Managing overall project activity for the allotted jobs, obtain client expectation and communicates to the KCP project team.
- Ensure project deliverables meets quality and schedule. Schedule project coordination meeting every week and discuss all the active points.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Generate monthly status report and keep the management informed of new or emerging risks in advance. Prepare project close out report.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Prepare supplier document submission schedule (DCI)
- Control updates/addition/deletions list, maintain originals and records of transmittals.
- Review project performance against plan on monthly basis.
- Controls the budget cost with the actual costs.
- Issue project schedule with critical activity and milestone.
- Issue profit margin analysis to top management every month, identifying any potential or actual variations in the scope and communicate to client.
- Identify errors/discrepancies in the input data.
- Prepare disciplines holds summary and lessons learned.
