Job Description for Security Officer
Title: Security Officer (SO) / Asst Security Manager
Reports To:General Manager
Position Summary:
As a Security Officer you are responsible to protect and safeguard allhotelguests, employees, their belongings and all hotel assets. Also ensuring that all hotel properties are adequately secured at all times.
Responsible for preparing daily incident reports, requisitions and other interoffice memos and ensuring that all allegations of the crime and other incidents are investigated and properly recorded.
Security Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate the activities of all security personnel.
- Ensure that all security staff provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, visitors and contractors at all times.
- Responsible for managing all safety & security, Fire Life Safety and faced by the hotel.
- Liaise with all department heads to ensure hotel employees are adhering to established security procedures.
- Record and notify all risks, deviations from hotels safety standards and any untoward incidents.
- Maintains, checks by initially daily, all records and registers required for smooth running and investigation in the department.
- Track Resorts safety record and document medically treated and non-treated injuries.
- Oversees first aid program for guests and employees.
- Monitor staff activity and coach subordinate performance.
- Implements effective control measures related to authorized entry and exit of person or material form the resort.
- Follows up on all unusual activities in and around the property that would impair the wellbeing of guests and employees.
- Ensure compliance with all security standards and preventative measures.
- Monitor and follow proper key control guidelines in loss prevention and in the property.
- Conduct investigations and compile reports in a timely manner for any theft, loss, accidents or any aspect that risk the safety of the hotel.
- Handles complaints, settling security related disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
- Reviews and records all SOP related to Security as per global standards and in line with the unique requirement of the Resort.
- Develops, implements and trains the staff on all possible emergency procedures as required at the resort. r
- Controls and monitors all SOP, Emergency / Crisis Management procedures at all times.
- Conduct regular walk through rounds for observing the entire hotel.
- Supervision of all Security Personnel and giving clear direction on all security related aspects.
- Coordinate with external police authorities in the investigation and handling of crimes, accidents, Government Ministers / VIP movements etc., involving the hotel, its employees and / or guests.
- Perform all tasks consistently in line with the hotel standards and ensures adherence to all legal and statutory requirements.
- Interview, select, review and train new security officers according to hotels standards to maintain order throughout the hotel.
- Be available 24 hours a day for genuine emergencies within the property.
Prerequisites:
Fluency in English in both written and spoken.
Proficiency in Computers
Knowledge of CCTV, Fire and Safety systems.
Education:
Minimum a Graduate
Safety and Security certification desirable.
Experience:
At least 6 years of experience
- Military Background
- Over all 6 years in the field including his / her tenure in Military
- At least 4 years in Supervisory level leading a team in a shift or 1 year of overall responsibility of the Security department.
- At least 1 year in any Service sector - Airlines, Hotels, Real Estate, etc
- Upscale hotel experience is highly desirable.
