Job Description

The candidate will be required to develop a fully functional pipeline of computational
tools to analyse genome- wide next generation sequencing data to investigate binding profiles of putative
eukaryotic transposase proteins. He/ she will also have the opportunity to develop laboratory skills (cell
culture, making libraries, standard biochemical and molecular biology procedures). The candidate should
be a highly motivated, continuous learner who is able to work independently.
Eligibility: Candidates must hold a 1st Class M.Sc/ M.Tech/ B.Tech. in Biology/ Chemistry (with adequate
background in bioinformatics, computational biology) or Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics/ Computer
Science (with adequate background in biology). Candidate should have valid CSIR NET / UGC or GATE
or equivalent fellowship.
Duration: Initial appointment for one year, extendable up to 3 years based on performance
Remuneration: as per DBT norms
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with the Unix/ Linux operating systems, programming experience in shell
scripts/ C/ C++/ Java/ R/ Perl/ Python languages as well as experience is using various bioinformatics
software tools (e.g. BOWTIE, BWA, MACS, GeneTrack, HOMER, MEME).
