Job Description
Main purpose of the role
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic Doctors Without Borders India (DWBI) is planning to implement a comprehensive COVID-19 intervention in the M/East Ward (MEW), Mumbai (Maharashtra) with the purpose of preventing, diagnosing and treating mild and moderate cases of COVID-19 including management of TB-COVID co-infected patients in a dedicated health facility thereby decongesting the current referral hospital (Kasturba hospital) to be able to focus on the severe cases. The project will also implement OPD/Fever clinic to strengthen screening, diagnosis and testing and WASH and Health promotion intervention in the MEW community in close collabration with the Mumbai Muncipal Corporation and other actors.
Therefore we are recruiting for Nurses to work in the COVID treatment facility.
The Nurses will provide outpatient and/or inpatient medical care to patients/beneficiaries according to adapted and updated medical knowledge, DWBI protocols, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the patients/beneficiaries health conditions.
Accountabilities for Nurse IPD
- To participate in the planning of activities along with the Nurse Supervisor.
- To ensure that the medical protocols are followed in patient management as per the DWBI protocol, taking the help of the Nurse Supervisor as and when needed
- To participate in regular team meetings with nurses and/or other clinical staff to plan and collaborate patient management activities
- To ensure proper clinical documentation is done in patient files and any other types of records
- To work closely with the counsellors to address any patient and family support related concerns
- To troubleshoot any issues that arise in the Nurses team to the Nurse Supervisor
- To be a good team player and have excellent coordination with other team members
- To be flexible to rotate on all interventions of the project.
Qualifications: BSc (Nursing) or General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) recognized from a Nursing Council of India, with Maharashtra nursing council registration
Due to the current lockdown and the urgency of this position, it is important that applicants live in or around Mumbai. We arrange transportation for our staff as long as there is no public transport. As this recruitment is for a specific emergency response on COVID-19, it is important that staff only apply for this position if they do not have one of the major risk factors for COVID namely existing cardiac complications, diabetes, hypertension, pregnancy or age > 55y.
Benefits (Non-negotiable)
Monthly Gross Salary: INR 31,403 and
Secondary Benefits (pro rata) as per policies:

Duration: 3 Months (Renewable depending upon project needs)
