Job Description
Engineering Lead/ManagerThe Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for setting direction and leadership to development teams, working on medium to large scale Pro-Vigil projects. She/he will be responsible for Software Delivery, Research and Development, People management, Project Delivery, managing risks and mitigation.
This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and "hands-on" product development skills. She/he must have strong technical background, technical achievements in product delivery and proficiency in motivating and leading the team, through vision, strategic positioning, and leadership characteristics.
You Are Great At
- Being responsible for the end to end ownership of a technology team, including setting the technical vision for developing our systems to serve Pro-Vigil's needs.
- Build and manage great software engineers and tech leaders that are responsible for developing and maintaining software that leverages our business needs.
- Be a champion of engineering and operational excellence viz. establish team metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellence and a consistent, regular process for assessment and improvement.
- Helps team achieve sprint/release goals while partnering with the Senior Management on overall business goals.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure plans & resources are coordinated, and project deliverables are well defined, scoped and achieved. Deliver assigned projects on time, budget and agreed quality standards. Manage communication cross-functionally and escalate promptly when issues arise.
- Provide guidance, technical feedback and ensure release goals are achieved on time. Provide visibility to team impediments/risks and helps eliminate them.
- Provide resource forecasting and optimize usage of resources.Ensure Team development, ideation, innovation and career progression.
- Align with internal development process and improve the in-house methodology and delivery processes.
- Work collaboratively with development and the QA team to identify test cases and suites best suited for automation.
- Have an ability to influence across boundaries and at all levels of the organization. Think strategically to help drive features and services for short and long-term growth.
- Design, implement, and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and CI/CD. Establish and implement metrics to monitor system effectiveness and enable making sound product quality decisions.
- 10-15 years of industry engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a management position.
- Minimum BE CS or equivalent qualification.
- Must have hands on experience in Java, Mobile Technologies and Cloud Application.
- Cloud : AWS Based Development, .NET, Agile SDLC, Engineering Team, Java Development, JSON
- AI : AWS Virtual Cloud, Messaging Protocols (preferred), Data Base experience with elastic Databases like Mongo DB etc.
- Agile project management, compliance and security solutions is must.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership and people management skills are required.
- Ability to organize, plan and create a team environment where everyone in the team can perform at their best.
- Effective facilitation skills for participatory decision making.
- Technical Certifications will be a big plus.
