Job Description

Position Title: Manager People & Learning (MPL)

Reports to: Senior Manager Human Resources & Administration (SMHRA)


Brooke is an international charity that protects and improves the lives of horses, donkeys and mules, which give people in the developing world the opportunity to work their way out of poverty. Brooke India (BI) works for the welfare and health of working equines and the development of community that owns them. It has operations in 11 states and implements its programs through partnerships.


Location: Based in the BI Head Office at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh (Delhi NCR, near Anand Vihar) with travel within the country; and occasional wider international travel to deliver People & Learning functions.


Role: The MPL has the role of ensuring that Brooke India (BI) is a happy team working towards its organizational vision and mission, while ensuring that a safe, fair and efficient workplace committed to the principles and practices of equal opportunity is available to all its employees. They will work towards building individual capacity and effectiveness of the Brooke India employees and those of its partners and beneficiaries, in all associated realms and domains to achieve this objective.


They will work with Human resources to engender the Brooke Way of Working. Their focus will be on organizational development, team building, and coaching in developing global standards of work place environment management, which include value systems, knowledge of standards and regulations. These will include safeguarding and promotion of gender equality & equity. They shall also ensure knowledge dissemination and compliance with all relevant laws like the SHWW Act, POCSO Act, etc across the organization and partnerships.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Leading, managing and delivering change, transformation and continuous improvement of the organizational behavior so that a happy respectful environment exists in all areas of work.
  • Organizational Development and Capacity building in both advisory and direct roles with partners and direct units.
  • Financial management of budgets allocated to people, planning & performance.
  • Conduct impact assessment, training needs analysis. Assess training needs for all levels of the organization.
  • Assist SMHRA on key talent processes such as Performance Management, Succession Planning, Teaming and Development & Career Planning to support development and growth.
  • Collaborate with HR to provide learning and development opportunities to employees, to build the capacity of BI staff to widen their horizons in programmatic fields of community development, livelihood, gender equality, animal welfare, ethology, humane handling, MEAL, project management and other subjects of professional development like leadership, team building, communication etc.
  • Prepare curriculum presentations and learning material on domain specialty subjects for courses to build skills & competencies for Brooke staff and partner staff, both onsite and offsite by developing key partners/stakeholders.
  • Plan and organize workshops, seminars, events etc. to provide innovative, simple, sustainable and effective focused learning solutions.
  • Perform such additional tasks as may be requested from time to time by the SMHRA/HFA/CEO.

Knowledge and experience

Essential
  1. Bachelor's degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Organization Development, Learning & Development or related field is required or any Degree with at least 2 years' experience as a trainer.
  2. Proven track record of leading formal Organization Development and Training interventions at different levels of system, consulting with key stakeholders to assess needs and offer recommendations/solutions to their challenges, and facilitating team performance improvement and change initiatives.
  3. Knowledgeable about all aspects of safeguarding.
  4. Ability to manage teams and work across all levels promoting collaborative working and to communicate complex issues to a diverse audience
  5. Proven ability to facilitate small and large training and team effectiveness sessions (live and remotely) and experience with various learning technologies.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  7. Good knowledge of IT programme (Microsoft Office Suite) and social networking platforms for use in your work and aptitude to learn them as a on job training
  8. Have love for animals and be willing to work for their welfare
Desirable
  1. Master's degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Organization Development, Learning & Development or an MBA in HR
  2. Natural team player with a strong focus and flair for people development.
  3. Familiarity with HR systems, including talent and learning management systems.
  4. Knowledgeable about instructional design methodology and application for effective adult learning.
  5. Have established themselves in the market place as credible in culture, cultural change and change management practices.


Miscellaneous

Salary Package: Based on qualification and experience. The approximate CTC shall be Rs 8.4 lakhs.


Mediclaim for family for 5 lakhs and Personal Accident Insurance of 10 Lakhs are over and above CTC


The position shall be on a fixed-term contract for three years, which may be extendable after three years.
