Job Description
Position Chief Manager- Corporate Legal
Grade IL-3
Location Corporate Office - Mumbai (Santacruz)
Reporting to Head - Legal
Specific Responsibilities Aid in the drafting, vetting, renewal and negotiation of various contracts, agreements, MoUs, POAs, Deeds, etc.
Develop Analytical Reports of legal risks associated with pending litigation against the organization
Effectively manage recovery related cases and initiate appropriate legal action as per legal provisions
Consult and work closely with external advocates to manage cases filed against the organization
Utilize industry specific knowledge to provide legal assistance to various departments
Development and ensure timely submission of MIS reports
Stay abreast with amendments to various laws relevant to the business, develop memos and recommend measures to incorporate the same
Regularly recommend changes to and aid in the development of policies and codes applicable to NBFCs and as per industry specific presence
Manage all litigation processes initiated by the company as per NCLT laws (Consumer, Criminal, Civil, Section 138 - Cheque bounce, Section 9 - arbitration/reconciliation, winding up a petition, appeals etc.)
Liaise with Zonal Legal on a regular basis to ensure compliance and identify potential legal issues that may impact operations
Ensure that all changes related to regulatory requirements, statutory provisions are communicated across departments and advocates
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure that all required compliance related documents are maintained for audit purposes
Responsible for the effective implementation of relevant training programs to build team capabilities
Internal Stakeholders Credit, Sales of various loan products, Finance, HR, Admin, Branding (All functions)
