1) Network Management and monitoring ensure 99.99% uptime of network
2) Troubleshooting network problems and outages
3) Scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
4) Directing system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
5) Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration
6) Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment
7) Maximize network performance by monitoring performance
8) Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources
9) Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
10) Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy
11) Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects
12) Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases
13) Configure routing and switching equipment and firewalls
14) Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation
15) Provide remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation
16) Undertake capacity management and audit of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centres
17) Liaise with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis
18) Speak to customers via email and phone for initial requirement capture.
