Job description:
Bedside handover takeover
Providing round-the clock care to premature and severely ill newborn infants
Care for the basic needs of infants; for example feeding and changing diapers
Performing medical procedures; for example inserting intravenous lines, performing tests, administering medications
Knowledge about the assigned patient
Evaluate patient condition
Constant observation
Prompt and effective bedside nursing care
Attend patient needs immediately
Immediate reporting of abnormalities if any
Proper documentation
Comforting newborns and Counseling patient and family members
Follow Consultant Doctors rounds
Implement Doctors orders
Inform cross referrals
Prepares and assist in various bedside procedures
Indent prescribed medicines and inform non availability
Narcotic/expensive drugs as per protocol
Collect investigation reports and inform
Nutritional needs as prescribed
Report any undue delay or issues
Follow protocol for: admission, discharge, death, transfer out/transfer in
Follow Blood Transfusion policy as required.
Informed consent to be taken for all special procedures and investigations
Confidentiality of patient records and condition
Proper management of emergencies
Health education
Inter departmental co-ordination
Ensure morning care and personal hygiene especially by night nurse
Accompany patient if necessary
Emergency management
Inform to incharge/ duty doctor in case of any abnormal values of investigation or any changes occur to the patient etc.,
