Client : Leading Petrochem Company
Position : Senior Piping Designer
Base location : Mumbai
Contract Duration : 1 year contract on Brunel Payroll.
Education: Diploma / act o in mechanical / Chemical Engineering.
Piping course would be an added advantage
Should know any of the 3D design softwares like- SP3D, PDS, PDMS
Experience: 12-14 years. Should have also worked at least 7 years in Refining and Petrochemical Projects.Functional Competencies:
1. Should have experience of preparation of plot plan / equipment arrangement plan for small unit or skid / modular package, Tie-in drawing generation.
2. Should have worked Mid-level to large scale projects in oil and gas and refinery industry.
3. Piping study, according to design basis and plant layout.
4. Must have knowledge of some of the 3D design softwares like SP3D, PDS, PDMS, and CAD Worx etc.
5. Should have performed piping designing of some of the standard piping modules like: pump piping, column piping, exchanger piping, tank piping, vessel / drum piping, pipe rack piping, haters / reformers piping, modular concept etc.
6. Should be familiar with various piping concepts like steam tracing, jacketed piping, IBR piping.
7. Should be familiar with codes standards of statutory regulations and requirements of refinery and petrochemical industry.
8. Should have knowledge of piping / equipment operation and maintenance requirements to be taken care, while developing layout.
9. Should know Isometric and piping GA drawing extraction and checking.
10. Clash & consistency checking of piping, preparation of line list & interconnecting PID. Modelling of Piping, Equipment, Structural -Civil, Electrical & Instrumentation items and generation of drawings using 3D design tools.
11. Conducting Model review with Navisworks freedom and simulate.
12. BOM extraction for piping items.
13. Should be familiar with piping material specification, support standard, design basis and other piping specifications.
14. Review and checking of modelling.
15. Piping load data for civil / structure department
16. Co-checking & commenting drawings from vendors and other disciplines.
17. Resolution site queries.
18. Should be conversant with P&IDs, Instrument hook ups structural drawings etc. & its effect on piping engineering.
19. Deciding nozzle orientation of static or process equipments & preparation of nozzle orientation sheets or commenting on vendor drawings of equipments.
20. Adequately handled routing & supporting of stress critical as well as process and utility pipes as per the standards, special support sketches, etc.
Interpersonal skills
1. Review and monitoring of project throughout the project cycle.
2. People Management Skills: Ability to train the people if required. Conduct periodic project reviews, understand the challenges faced by the team and resolve them.
3. Training and development of Jr. Designers should be able train the designers who are not familiar with above listed activities. Monitor and mentor them with company specific tools and procedures
4. Should be innovative to try and develop new procedures to improve the productivity and quality.
