Platform Ops Engineer - Mumbai - Travelex @ Travelex India

We re hiring for a Platform Engineer to help us support /build the platform for our customers and stakeholders to mutually evolve our capabilities. We want our engineers to have a deep understanding of the technologies and approaches the Platform team employs, be a rock-solid team player, and thrive on getting things done.

We are looking for a full-stack engineers with hands-on experience building and maintaining modern AWS-based cloud estates . You ll happily take on complex technical challenges, and then collaboratively develop and push our capabilities to achieve our (lofty!) ambitions.

This person reports directly into the Head of Platform Engineering and will be based in Kings Cross, London.

Day to day you will:

• Work as a part of a team to deliver a modern and truly DevOps-enabling Platform for Travelex s global engineering customers

• Help deliver fast, flexible, automation-first solutions to enable our engineering teams to do more, faster, better

• Influence the development of internal and customer products so that they align with our standards

• Contribute to the technology roadmap for the platform. This consists of the major cross-cutting technology projects and their priorities

• Drive constant improvements in reliability, development speed and ease of use

• Jointly provide front-line support for Platform managed services

• Experiment with bleeding edge technology in a friendly, fun, team-focused environment

• Participate in and enable DevOps culture. You build it, you run it!
  
  About you:

You will have worked as an engineer in a tech suppor t team, ideally with Platform or cloud infrastructure responsibilities . You have a strong sense of ownership and you love getting things done. As a natural collaborator, you are motivated to succeed both as a Platform team, and as part of the wider Engineering organisation.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• E xperience support solutions and managing workloads on AWS

• Experience managing infrastructure as code, particularly with Terraform

• Experience doing technical support in a service desk environment

• E xposure to Agile ways of working (Kanban and/or Scrum)

• Knowledge and experience in writing code and infrastructure tests (unit testing, automation

• Experience working within cross functional teams (engineering, product, vendors)

• Experience with the Atlassian tools suite, particularly JIRA and Confluence

• Understanding of DevOps workflow concepts, particularly as they pertain to infrastructure/platform teams (source-controlled infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with (Docker) container orchestration platforms, especially Kubernetes and/or AWS EKS. AWS ECS a plus.

• Exposure to a common imperative scripting language, ideally Python

• Experience supporting or using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI , AWS CodePipeline , etc.

• Experience building and administering secrets management solutions like Hashicorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, etc.

• Working knowledge of serverless technology like AWS Lambda, etc

• Broad working knowledge of software engineering best practices/patterns
