Job Description
DEPARTMENT BRIEF:
FactSet is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining, various Wealth Management solutions. This candidate must be able to troubleshoot issues and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them according to SLAs. Must have through knowledge of Software Engineering principles and best practices. This individual must also possess a high degree of creativity and a strong talent for problem-solving to conquer complex technical obstacles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software engineering principles.
- Develop and support various applications using MS-SQLServer, MySQL/Oracle, JavaScript, PHP and other components.
- Guide junior engineers / freshers and introduce them into existing components and methods. Share your knowledge and help them to learn and grow
- Ensuring that deployed products are properly maintained throughout their lifecycle.
- Using reliable build and deployment procedures for products in a production environment spanning a large number of servers of multiple co-location facilities.
- Should be quick lea r ner and open to learn new things.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
- 5 to 8 yrs. related work experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a clear understanding of Software Engineering patterns and practices.
- Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design.
- Experienced in Java Script, MySQL/Oracle and script languages is a huge plus.
- Working experience with Node.js is a big plus.
- Experienced in modern architectural patterns such as MVVM is a plus
- Basic operational knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Proven desire to learn and contribute to the successful completion of team goals and projects.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to work well as an individual contributor and within a team.
Highly Desired Attributes:
- Experience with Market data and other financial industry is a plus.
- Experience with multithreaded, caching and high availability software development is a plus.
