Job Description

Campaigner Human Rights Education (HRE) - Amnesty International India Campaigner Human Rights Education (HRE) Campaigner Human Rights Education (HRE) The campaigner works with the HRE team and reports to the Manager Human Rights Education in the development of an effective campaign strategy that resonates with young people in particular with the University/ College Students and delivery of the campaign.
Manager Human Rights Education Frequent out-of-city travel to project States Annual Salary (CTC): The campaigner works with the HRE team and reports to the Manager Human Rights Education in the development of an effective campaign strategy that resonates with young people in particular with the University/ College Students and delivery of the campaign. The position involves constant engagement, networking and program development with students, student unions, academic institutions, youth networks and relevant education boards. The work will largely focus on mobilization of young people through creative and innovative campaigns and programs.
The position will require a dynamic individual with the passion and experience to be part of a vibrant approach to build a diverse youth constituency that builds the relevance of Human Rights Education in the Indian context. It requires strong analytical and research skills to assess the external environment, identify key issues affecting young people and leverage them to develop a coherent and synergistic campaign focused on building a Human Rights movement in the country.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Goals and Outcomes: Identify research areas and analyse key campaign issues, related to HRE. Work with the Human Rights Education team to identify suitable campaign goals to achieve the outcomes in an innovative, cost-effective and time bound manner.
Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor and analyse external developments in political/ media/ civil society/ corporate circles relevant to the campaign area and adopt appropriate changes to campaign strategy, objectives and plans.
Collaboration and Relationship Building: Liaise and build relationships with academic institutions and student networks and movements on issues of relevance to meet campaign objectives.
Innovation: Design and utilize cutting edge tools, approaches and analysis to focus and strengthen the campaign strategy. Promote innovation in campaigning, including trying new tactics, techniques and methodologies.
Impactful implementation: Independently design and deliver impactful and fully integrated campaigns through the complete campaign lifecycle (issue identification, strategy development, campaign delivery, monitoring, campaign exit and impact assessment) COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK
Communication s Strategy: To assist the development of a strong communication strategy with the target audiences for the campaign and Human Rights Education Programme, while establishing relevant links to the wider human rights campaign movement.
Online Offline Communications: To develop content for online and offline use to build public support for the campaign and the integration of the values and principles of human rights into education and is in line with the overall goal and objectives of the HRE Programme.
External Communications: To independently handle public speaking engagements like orientation to students, press meets, conferences etc. according to the needs of the programme. To assist the preparation of press briefings and updates to inform assigned media staff on HRE issues.
Cross Team: Coordinate with the fundraising team and develop new ways to fundraise and build a supporter base online through the HRE Programme. Skills and Requirements
Passion for and belief in the vision of Amnesty International India.
Demonstrated ability in strategizing and creating successful youth outreach, strategy development and mass campaigns.
The ability to inspire, motivate and mobilise diverse young people and constantly engage them.
Knowledge and experience of working with the University/ College space is desirable.
Knowledge of the context, media and social change and what role these play in the Human Rights debate in India
Experience in diverse curriculum development and undertaking trainings.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to spot and address both risks and opportunities
The ability to lead innovative and creative approaches to campaigning; experience of using online and offline activism techniques and a range of digital channels to achieve campaign objectives.
Demonstrable project management skills, including ability to multi-task, work under pressure, managing budgets; ability to change course and work in fluid circumstances.
Excellent written, verbal interpersonal communications skills in English, Hindi and knowledge of one or more regional languages.
A strong team player.
