RxDx was set up with a vision to provide pre hospital care to communities. A neighbourhood clinic concept. The Family Doctor (GP, general physician) is at the core of RxDx and it is a physician led and driven primary care + model. The GP's are supported by diagnostics, physiotherapy, pharmacy and specialists as needed so it is a one stop health care solution for outpatients. This model sits in between single doctor practices and hospitals.

In addition, RxDx aims to provide value added health care services such as health checkups, women's care, geriatrics, a child friendly kids clinic, a foot and sports clinic and home health care services which are areas where focus and multi-disciplinary medical professionals are needed. These areas are not typical focus areas of hospitals as they are not surgical or intervention based. However, they fill a niche community need. Similarly using technology to help a patient access medical help via tele consults is another initiative of RxDx which can help decongest cities and de-stress individuals as patients are saved the commute. In our RxDx clinics, patients can see their favourite doctors on the RxDx smartapp thus saving them a visit to the clinic.

RxDx started from one clinic in Whitefield in 2007 and has since organically expanded across Bangalore in a hub and spoke fashion. Three spokes in east Bangalore at Kundanhalli, Kadugodi, Bellandur are supported by the main branch in Whitefield. In 2018, a new hub has been created in Malleswaram. RxDx started with local GP services and then expanded into other areas which help the local community. Via telemedicine it aims to take the expertise of its wonderful doctor community to others in India, Africa and globally who could benefit from it.

HCL Foundation’s flagship urban community development program - UDAY, seeks to create ‘green, clean, healthy and empowered communities’. Aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, it is developing an integrated solution to break the vicious cycle of urban poverty.

Uday works in the immediate neighborhoods of HCL across 11 cities where HCL has a presence. Currently being implemented in partnership with like-minded organizations, HCL Uday is now poised to scale – both in terms of depth of the intervention as well as scale of its reach.

Under its Environment thematic ‘Harit - The Green Spaces Initiatives’; HCL Foundation is committed towards conservation of environment and the indigenous flora and fauna; with the primary objective to conserve, restore and enhance local ecosystems and respond to climate change in a sustainable manner through community engagement. We have successful existing partnership models on mass afforestation and water bodies rejuvenation in various cities across India.

Till now, HCL Foundation have planted 131,000+ saplings planted on 46.6 Ha area with more than 90% survival rate, 71 waterbodies being rejuvenated with an increased water holding capacity of 2 Mill cu.m., 114 tons of CO2e sequestered/ emission reduced, running a campaign to revive coastal ecosystem in Chennai.
