Job Description
Position Title: Branch Operations Head
Department: T&O
Section: Branch Operations
Reports to: Head Branch Operations, India
Job Purpose
- This position exists due to the need for managing and controlling the Branch Operations and for ensuring smooth functioning of the branch. Provide strong support to Branch Head and BUs to enable them to focus on customers and revenues. Maintain the risk, control and governance standards as per DBS Bank policies and guidelines.
- This position is also expected to supervise and guide the team on all operational matters and to define and delegate job responsibilities in line with bank's guidelines. The job holder is also responsible for leading the team with DBS vision & philosophy and develops skill and talent in the team.
Key Accountabilities
- Jobholder is responsible for entire Operations of the Branch as per defined Job responsibilities.
- Ensure adherence with laid down processes and controls and manage Operational Risk for the Branch.
- Adherence to agreed TATs with Business thereby ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Compliance with all regulatory and internal guidelines and policies relevant to T&O.
- Manage audit at Branch and ensure minimum satisfactory rating at all times.
- Ensure smooth functioning of the Branch by supervising activities relating to Facilities Management, IT, CRESA, GPS at branch level
Job Duties & responsibilities
- Manage & control all operational functions of the Branch and define roles and responsibilities clearly for all team members.
- Ensure adequate coordination with centralized operations teams to maintain high quality service and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure timely receipt and submission of regulatory and other reports by/from the Branch.
- Monitor SLAs with all the Central Operations units.
- Participate in all critical system enhancement and process improvement exercises within T&O.
- Identify areas where productivity enhancement and cost reduction initiatives can be introduced.
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by Head T&O from time to time.
Experience
- Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in General Branch Banking Operations out which at least 5 years in a senior/leadership capacity.
Education / Preferred Qualifications
- The incumbent should hold a degree of graduation in any discipline. Additional qualifications in Banking/ Finance / Law or MBA would be an added advantage.
Core Competencies
- Knowledge of all aspects of branch banking and Operations. Good understanding and working experience of regulatory and compliance aspects relating to this.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to build & enhance customer relation and co-ordination with RMs & Centralized operations.
- Leadership & management skills.
Technical Competencies
- Sound knowledge of computer systems, ability to understand and work on different software packages for delivery of various banking products and services.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment and working knowledge of matters relating to ICC, Legal, Admin etc.
- Analytical skills.
Work Relationship
- Branch Operations Head.Direct Reporting Line: Head Branch Operations, India T&O
- Liaison with internal and external clients, Regulatory bodies where required.
- Liaison with Central Operations Units at HO, other Branches/BUs and other Banks
- as applicable
