Position :- Electrical Control Engineer.
Location :- Oman.
JOB DESCRIPTION:-
- To coordinate all operations on to ensure optimum system security and safety compliance. Check, approve and give instruction for all planned, unplanned and emergency switching and assist with fault analysis on 132KV,33kV&11kV networks to ensure all operational issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively. Real time updating of single line diagrams and other asset/operational records. Oversee compliance with Operational and QHSE procedures and policies and collation of accurate system performance data.
- Coordinate daily operations activity on 132/33/11kv to ensure that switching schedules for all operations (planned, unplanned & emergency) and updating single line diagrams are compliance with Company's HSE policies and procedures
- Check and approve all switching programs in order to confirm that all are being followed according to the established program.
- When available, monitor/operate SCADA systems in order to monitor the 132Kv, 33Kv and 11KV substations and auxiliary equipment ensuring the continuous power supply to all customers.
- Monitor, analyse and report on the load, availability, supply interruptions and restoration activities, in order to maintain adequate records and the results in order to prepare the contingency plans for emergency conditions.
- Coordinate, guide and instruct the operations engineers during outages, emergency and switching schedules to agreement all activities are online with company procedures and policies, similarly to inform the Customer call Centre of any possible power supply interruptions and ensure that works are done on time according to NEP and closely coronation with DCC head.
- Monitor loads during the peak load period (summer season) for system that do not comply with DSSS, generate a daily report with continuous follow up of load balancing with operation team.
- Receive client HOT LINE incident calls and immediately escalation to senior Management
- Deal and manage with all incidents, faults, tripping on the system and analyse the situation and come up with corrective actions to solve the problem(s) on the target time as per the network performance indicators KPI.
- Prepare a daily outage report, recording all safety documents, switching (planned, unplanned and emergency) and updating SLD on real time.
- Prepare a Preliminary and Significant Incident report as per the grid code and distribution code.
- Apply technical precautions in carrying out approved switching schedules to ensure safety procedures are functional all times as per the Operational SOPs and ESR.
- Prepare any reports required by the management
- Perform periodic analysis of operational risk and related decision-making in order to prepare and update the contingency plans for emergency conditions.
- Maintain a log for all operations on the Distribution network in order to have complete records and prepare the contingency plans for emergency conditions.
- Develop, update and implement a shift rotation schedule (considering requirement and physical and emotional stress to staff) in a manner fair and just too all operators / technicians without compromising system operations.
- Study and approve short notice outages and planned outages.
- Coordinate power and load management with other businesses and external utilities involved in real time.
- Monitor and report on compliance with the Grid Code and Distribution Code, operational procedures, license and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the validity and quality of the safety documents, permits & ESR Holders in order to.
- Ensure that Company's HSE standards, policies and procedures are compiled for at all times.
- Prepared, regular audit reports for all operation switching (planned, unplanned and Emergency) and audit all switching shall comply with company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to company's health, safety, environment and security policies at all times and immediately report violation of these policies to Company's Health and Safety Manager to ensure HSE standards are met at all time
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly power system performance/activity reports as required, well as weekly incident and trip reports
