- Description and Skills: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator Team Lead to oversee and manage a team of database administrators. This pivotal role involves optimizing database performance, ensuring security and reliability, and providing leadership to drive team success. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a collaborative mindset to ensure our database systems align with organizational goals and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and manage a team of database administrators to achieve excellence in database management. Allocate tasks, prioritize projects, and ensure timely delivery of database solutions. Provide guidance, performance reviews, and career development opportunities for team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. Database Design & Optimization Oversee database architecture, ensuring scalability, high performance, and availability. Perform advanced tuning and optimization to eliminate performance bottlenecks. Lead the implementation of robust database solutions tailored to business needs. Database Maintenance & Support Monitor database health and ensure systems are operating at peak efficiency. Conduct regular backups, patch management, and system updates. Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Resolve complex database issues and minimize downtime. Database Security Define and enforce database security policies, access controls, and encryption. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Conduct regular audits and implement solutions to safeguard sensitive data. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management Work closely with system architects, software engineers, and other IT teams to integrate database solutions seamlessly. Act as a consultant to business units, ensuring database solutions meet organizational goals. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment on projects and priorities. Continuous Improvement Automate routine database tasks to streamline operations. Research and implement emerging database technologies to improve performance and efficiency. Lead modernization efforts for legacy systems to align with current industry standards. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.5+ years of experience in database administration with a focus on leadership roles. Expertise in database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL). Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and recovery strategies. Knowledge of database security and compliance best practices. Proficiency in database monitoring and performance tuning tools. Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
