- Job Description The team youll be part of Strategy & Technology Strategy and Technology lays the path for Nokias future technology innovation and identifies the most promising areas for Nokia to create new value. This team drives Nokias intellectual property rights portfolio and standards leadership. You will be an integral part of a high-performance global team committed to driving continuous improvement and world-class innovation in radio and multimedia research, particularly for Nokia Standards. As senior research specialist you will develop new RAN concepts and contribute to Nokia's wireless technical leadership. How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn Sustained measurable business and/or scientific impact. Technical lead of research teams on a regular basis. Internally and externally recognized for contributions. What You Will Learn And Contribute To Specifically, your role includes the following responsibilities: Radio research in the area of communication protocols and physical layer for devices Develop high quality intellectual property (IPRs) and support strengthening of Nokia IPR portfolio Develop device implementation concepts/solutions supporting our standards contributions in 3GPP. Contribute and participate in customer dialogue on latest wireless technology trends Working as part of a team with the ability to work independently as well Ensure active participation in 3GPP for the related research to push Nokia research into standardization Influence the next generation mobile communications and standards Contribute with 3GPP contributions within RAN area. Develop leading research in the area of terminal and devices Shape the future of wireless connectivity by creating world-class classical or AIML solutions in 6G radio and system. Learn from the best in the industry about cutting-edge wireless and mobile network technologies. Apply and expand your knowledge by identifying and developing new approaches and solutions for AI/ML in radio and 6G system. Create high-value innovations and inventions in a dynamic industry and ensure the competitiveness of future radio. Contribute to 6G in the worlds leading standardization organizations like 3GPP Key Skills And Experience Your skills and experience You have: Strong background in 5G or LTE is a prerequisite A background with a PhD or masters degree in computer science, AI, Telecommunications, or a related field. A profound understanding of the area of radio access systems is a prerequisite A profound understanding of the area of cellular devices is a prerequisite A good understanding of Radio Access solution & product portfolio and wireless business strategy is required Experience in 3GPP standardization will be a plus Good to have knowhow least one of the following areas RX and TX physical layer architecture and design L1/2/3 protocol SW architecture and implementation Understanding of fundamentals of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Proficiency in evaluating concepts and solutions by means of simulations or analytical methods. Perfect technical background: 2+ years as development engineer or research on device cellular modem area Multi -national and distributed environment Extensive exposure to international interworking culture, experience in leading distributed teams is an advantage You are proactive and willing to follow and search for latest research results! Fluent English skills is a requirementr contributions will drive real change.
