Key Responsibilities Should have knowledge and should have worked on ISO, FSSAI, GMP and HACCP Should know licensing and implementation and should have experience in audit handling of food safety. Inspection and Monitoring Conduct regular inspections of food establishments, processing plants, and distribution facilities. Assess compliance with food safety laws, hygiene standards, and operational guidelines. Identify risks or violations and recommend corrective actions. Regulation and Compliance Enforce local, state, and federal food safety regulations. Oversee the licensing and certification of food businesses. Training and Education Educate food business operators and staff on food safety practices and regulatory requirements. Develop and deliver training programs on safe food handling, storage, and preparation. Investigation and Reporting Investigate foodborne illness outbreaks, contamination incidents, and consumer complaints. Collect samples for laboratory analysis and interpret results. Prepare detailed inspection and incident reports. Policy Development and Review Assist in the development and review of food safety policies and protocols. Recommend updates based on emerging risks, trends, or legislative changes. Liaison and Coordination Work collaboratively with public health officials, regulatory agencies, and food industry stakeholders. Provide expert advice on food safety issues and regulatory compliance. Skills and Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in Food Science, nutrition Certifications: Certification in food safety management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) is preferred. Experience: Previous experience in food safety inspection or quality assurance is advantageous. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in report writing and record-keeping. Knowledge of food safety laws and regulations.
